Notes from the voice booth

Nine days, fourteen hours of audiobook and the throat sweets that got me through. Long-form narration is a marathon of consistency. I record in two-hour blocks, mark every character’s voice in the script with a colour, and keep a reference clip of each one to play before a session. Room-temperature water, no dairy before lunch and a five-minute hum between chapters keep the voice even from the first page to the last.
